With emo culture permeating pop culture across the globe, it probably comes as no surprise that anime emo cartoons are becoming more and more common. For those unfamiliar with anime, it is an art form that originated in Japan, and has a strong cult following over here in the U.S.

Since World War II, the Japanese have taken a keen interest in all things related to American pop culture and this includes emo. American emo bands frequently sell more tickets are shows in Japan than they do here. Anime cartoons featuring emo characters is just another way the Japanese people show their appreciation for the beautiful art form that is emo music.
